maggiedot.com /// web development I like to tell my clients that a Web site is simply another tool in your marketing arsenal. And, like print or other media, it can convey your message well or poorly. A Web site is not a "be all end all" solution that will have people flocking to your doors once it's online. As part of the aforementioned "marketing arsenal," it should mesh seamlessly as well as augment your existing advertising. There are several steps to getting your Web site from conceptualization to implementation. The first step is meeting with you (either in person or virtually via email and telephone) so that I can"steep" in your business, getting a multidimensional feel for what your represent, what you are trying to convey and the people you wish to reach with you site. It's very important that you've developed some sort of business plan with a strong mission statement, because if your business lacks focus, your site will too. I will also develop a wish list, including colors, graphic style, what you like/dislike about various Web sites, etc. From there, I can build a tactical outline and I can quote you a price. Since every site is different and we specialize in custom-tailoring each site, there are no set prices, only a general range. Second, I work up a rough template based on the tactical outline and load the draft in a demo directory for you to view and note changes/edits. This usually happens 2-3 weeks after signing a contract with me. Next, I flesh out the site, adding content and graphics. Because this will be done in an online demo directory, the client will be able to view the process and continue to comment on their likes and dislikes. This process takes about two weeks. Once complete, the client "signs off" on the site and we ready it for initial search-engine registration. We will work together to carefully craft keywords and a description relevent to your industry. Finally, I launch the site and do an initial submission to the major search engines and relevent directories. (We can also offer press release services as well as print advertising, special events, etc. complement the site launch. Click here for more information.). It is recommended that you continue to resubmit your site on a quarterly basis to better your chances that it will stay listed. Also important is to update your site with fresh content on a regular basis. If you don't have the "bandwidth" to do this yourself, I can help with my online marketing and maintenance packages. As noted above, I offer no set prices for sites as I custom-tailor for each client. However, to give you a vague idea, our sites start at $500 for a bare-bones "flyer" site, to $1000 for a "brochure" site, to around $3,500 for a more complex, database driven site. E-Commerce sites start at $5000. I also offer hosting and maintenance packages. |
